The festival

Istanbul International Festival & Competition takes place from 19–23 November 2027 in Istanbul, Türkiye. The event combines stage competitions, festival performances and sightseeing in a celebration of culture and friendship, giving participants the opportunity to present their artistic traditions on an international stage.

Practical notes

IST and SAW are on different sides of the city. Allow substantial transfer time and verify airport codes, terminals and interchanges.

Competition Conditions

Groups may enter a maximum of 2 competition categories, plus solo or duet.
Performances are evaluated by internationally experienced jury members.
International competition rules apply.
Participants must follow the organizer’s competition category rules.

Performance & Stage

Competition performance duration: approximately 6–8 minutes.
Festival performance duration: approximately 10–12 minutes.
Each group may present 1 competition performance and 1 festival performance.
Participants must follow the performance-duration rules provided by the organizer.

Excursions

Participants can combine the festival program with sightseeing and cultural activities. Possible visits include:

Maltepe

An optional Bosphorus Boat Tour can be arranged to experience Istanbul from the water between Europe and Asia.

Groups arriving by plane can request local transportation from the organizer for airport transfers, excursions and festival activities. Groups arriving with their own bus use their own vehicle during the program.
