The festival

The XXXI International Music & Dance Festival “OHRID SUN” takes place in Ohrid, North Macedonia, from 20–24 August 2027.

Ohrid is a UNESCO World Heritage destination famous for its lake, ancient churches and historic architecture.

The festival presents the cultural traditions of different countries and regions, giving participants opportunities to meet, build friendships and share their culture through music and dance.

Booking & Payment Terms

Groups should submit a short CV, 3 photos and participation information, and coordinate accommodation and organizational details with the festival team.

Participation

Who Can Participate

  • Folk groups, choral groups, modern dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental groups, orchestras, soloists and other performing arts groups.
  • Children, youth and adult groups are welcome.
  • The festival is non-competitive.
  • Maximum 80 persons per group, including performers, managers, musicians and family members.
  • Maximum 3 groups per country.
  • Each group should bring its national flag.
  • Groups arrange their own arrival and departure transport.

Health Insurance

Personal responsibility and health insurance are required. First aid and medical services are available.

Performance & Stage

  • Each group should prepare a performance lasting approximately 12–18 minutes.
  • Performances may use live accompaniment or recorded music on USB.
  • The main festival program takes place on the main square in Ohrid.

  • St. Naum boat trip.
  • St. Naum boat trip with Macedonian traditional food and wine tasting at Ostrovo.
  • Crni Drim Springs boat ride.
