Overview

The festival

The XXV International Dance & Music Festival “Montenegro Music Fest” takes place from 20 to 24 August 2027 in Budva, Montenegro.

Groups can present traditional and modern dances, meet performers from other countries and combine festival participation with sightseeing, beach time and optional excursions.

Program

Day by day

Friday 20 August

Arrival & Welcome Reception

  1. 20 August: Arrival in Budva, hotel check-in and free time for swimming and relaxation.

  2. Dinner.

  3. Welcome reception with group leaders.

Stay & prices

Accommodation packages

Price includes

  • Accommodation according to the selected package.
  • One complimentary place for every 30 paying dancers.
  • A souvenir and gift for each group.
  • Certificates of attendance.
  • Refreshments during performances.
  • Festival promotion through press releases, social media, posters and flyers.

Not included

  • Tourist tax and insurance: EUR 1.50 per person per day, charged additionally.
  • Extended stays: EUR 40 per person per day.
  • Additional double rooms: EUR 10 per person per night.
  • Bus parking, paid separately.
  • Transfers from Tivat Airport or Podgorica Airport to Budva, available for an additional fee.
  • Medical expenses, which are the responsibility of the participating group.

Accommodation is provided in selected hotels in Budva on a Half Board basis, with two meals per day.

Participation

Who Can Apply

Open to folk ensembles, modern dance groups, choirs, orchestras, brass bands and majorette teams, including children, youth and adults.

Application Materials

  • A short CV.
  • 3 photos.
  • A recent video performance link.
  • Each group must bring its national flag.

Transportation

Groups must organize their own arrival and departure transportation to and from Budva.

Health Insurance & Responsibility

Personal responsibility and health insurance are required.

Performance & Stage

  • Maximum 100 participants per group, including dancers, musicians and managers.
  • Each group must prepare 2 dances or performances of approximately 10–15 minutes each.
  • USB playback or a live orchestra is allowed.
  • Due to the exclusive location in Budva Old Town, a stage is not allowed.

  • Ostrog Orthodox Monastery: Visit one of the most famous Orthodox pilgrimage sites in the Balkans, built directly into the cliffs.
  • Tara River Canyon: Explore dramatic viewpoints and untouched nature in one of Europe’s most impressive river canyons.
  • Shkodra Lake with Lunch: Discover Montenegro’s largest lake and enjoy a traditional lunch by the water.
  • Shkodra Lake + Boat Ride: Enjoy a relaxing boat ride with panoramic lake views.
  • Kotor with Boat Ride: Cruise through the Bay of Kotor and explore the UNESCO-listed medieval Old Town.
  • Kotor without Boat Ride: Discover the historic centre and medieval atmosphere.
  • Kotor Cable Car Adventure: Enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the Bay of Kotor.
