The festival

The XX International Music & Dance Festival “Sea of Rhythms” takes place from 21 to 25 May 2027 in Budva, Montenegro.

The festival aims to present the cultural traditions of different countries through music and dance while creating opportunities for international friendships.

Program

Day by day

Friday 21 May

Arrival

  1. Arrival in Budva, hotel accommodation and free time.

  2. Dinner.

  3. Welcome reception with group leaders.

Stay & prices

Accommodation packages

Price includes

  • One complimentary place for every 30 paying participants.
  • A souvenir and gift for each group.
  • A welcome cocktail.
  • A certificate of attendance.
  • Drinks during performances.
  • Festival promotion through social media, newsletters, posters and flyers.

Not included

  • Arrival and departure transportation, which groups must arrange themselves.
  • Tourist tax and insurance: EUR 1.50 per person per day.
  • Bus parking, paid separately.
  • Transfers from Tivat Airport or Podgorica Airport to Budva, which the organizers can arrange for groups arriving by plane at an additional fee.

Accommodation is available in selected hotels in Budva on a half-board basis, with two meals per day.

Standard accommodation is at Hotel Empire and Hotel Lobo. Other listed hotels are Hotel In, GreenStone Hotel, Hotel Park and Hotel Peru.

Additional double rooms and extended stays are available.

Booking & Payment Terms

  • Prices for Hotel In, GreenStone Hotel, Hotel Park and Hotel Peru are available on request.

  • Family members may join at the same price.

  • A 10% guarantee fee is payable in advance and deducted from the final payment.

Participation

This non-competitive festival welcomes folklore ensembles, modern dance groups, choral groups, orchestras, brass bands and majorette teams, with children, youth and adult participants.

  • Children’s ensembles: at least two-thirds of participants must be aged 16 or younger.
  • Youth ensembles: at least two-thirds of participants must be aged 25 or younger.
  • Adult ensembles: at least one-third of participants must be older than 25.
  • Maximum group size: 70 members.
  • A maximum of 3 groups per country may participate.

Required Materials

  • A short CV in English.
  • 5 group photos.
  • A national flag.

Health Insurance

Personal and health insurance costs remain the responsibility of the participating group.

Performance & Stage

  • Groups must prepare at least two dances or performances of 10–15 minutes each.
  • USB playback or a live orchestra is allowed.

Excursions

  • Budva sightseeing with a local guide and a boat cruise to Sveti Stefan: EUR 14 per person.
  • Kotor with a guide: EUR 12 per person.
  • Dubrovnik — optional.
  • Ostrog Orthodox Monastery — optional.
  • Tara River Canyon — optional.
  • Shkodra Lake with lunch — optional.
  • Shkodra Lake with a boat ride — optional.
  • Kotor with a boat ride — optional.
  • Kotor without a boat ride — optional.
  • Kotor Cable Car Adventure — optional.
  • Herceg Novi — optional.
