The festival

The XX International Music & Dance Festival “Budva Cultural Fest” takes place from 28 June to 2 July 2027 in Budva, Montenegro.

The festival presents the cultural traditions of different countries, fostering friendship and cultural exchange through music and dance.

Program

Day by day

Monday 28 June

Arrival

  1. Arrival and hotel check-in.

  2. Dinner at the hotel.

  3. Welcome reception for group leaders.

Accommodation packages

Price includes

  • One complimentary place for every 30 paying dancers.
  • A souvenir and gift for each group.
  • Certificates of attendance.
  • Refreshments during performances.
  • Festival promotion through press releases, social media, posters and flyers.

Not included

  • Tourist tax and insurance: €1.50 per person per day, charged additionally.
  • Bus parking is paid separately.
  • For groups arriving by plane, transfers from Tivat Airport or Podgorica Airport to Budva can be arranged for an additional fee.
  • Medical expenses must be covered by the participating group.

Accommodation is provided in selected hotels in Budva on a half-board basis, with two meals per day.

Standard accommodation: Hotel Empire and Hotel Lobo.

Booking & Payment Terms

  • Prices on request for Hotel In, GreenStone Hotel, Hotel Park and Hotel Perun.

  • Extended stays: €36 per person per day.

  • Additional double rooms: €10 per person per night.

Participation

This is a non-competitive festival for children, youth and adults.

  • Open to folklore ensembles, traditional and modern dance groups, ballroom dance teams, choirs, majorette teams, orchestras and brass bands.
  • A maximum of 3 groups per country may participate.
  • Each group may include up to 80 members.
  • Groups must bring their national flag.
  • Applications require a short CV and 3 group photos.
  • Groups arrange their own arrival and departure transportation.

Health Insurance

Personal responsibility and health insurance are required.

Performance & Stage

  • Each ensemble must prepare at least 2 dances or performances of 10–15 minutes each.
  • USB accompaniment or a live orchestra is allowed.
  • Because of the exclusive Old Town Budva location, a stage is not permitted.

  • Ostrog Orthodox Monastery: Visit one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the Balkans, uniquely built into a cliffside.
  • Tara River Canyon: Explore impressive viewpoints and untouched nature.
  • Shkodra Lake with Lunch: Discover the lake and enjoy a traditional lunch by the water.
  • Shkodra Lake + Boat Ride: Enjoy a relaxing boat trip with panoramic views.
  • Kotor with Boat Ride: Cruise through the Bay of Kotor and explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town.
  • Kotor without Boat Ride: Explore the historic centre and medieval atmosphere.
  • Kotor Cable Car: Enjoy panoramic views over the Bay of Kotor.
