The XX International Choir Festival & Competition “Saint Stefan” takes place from 15 to 19 August 2027 in Budva, Montenegro.
The Grand Prize is the “St. Stefan” statue.

- Competitive participation: an additional €15 per participant.
- Tourist tax and insurance: an additional €1.50 per person per day.
- Extended stays: €40 per person per day.
- Additional double rooms: €10 per person per night.
- Bus parking is charged separately.
- Transfers from Tivat Airport or Podgorica Airport to Budva can be arranged for an additional fee.
- Medical expenses must be covered by the participating group.
Accommodation is provided in selected hotels in Budva on a Half Board basis, with two meals per day.
Standard accommodation: Hotel Empire and Hotel Lobo.

Participation
Eligibility & Categories
Children’s, youth and adult choirs, singing formations and orchestras may apply for competitive or non-competitive participation. A minimum of 5 choral groups is required for the competition.
- Children’s choirs: at least two-thirds of participants must be 16 or younger.
- Youth choirs: at least two-thirds must be 27 or younger.
- Adult choirs: at least one-third must be older than 27.
Competition categories: Uniform Choirs, Mixed Choirs and Children’s Choirs.
Festival Sections
- Section One – Performances: open-air programme.
- Section Two – Pop Music: choral arrangements of pop songs.
- Section Three – Folk Music: choral arrangements of folk songs or folk motifs.

- Recent audio recording.
- National flag required.
Transportation
Groups must arrange their own arrival and departure transportation.
Health Insurance & Responsibility
Personal responsibility and health insurance are required.
Copyright & Recordings
By applying, choirs agree to respect copyright and related rights for the works performed and allow festival use of recorded material.
Performance & Stage
- Maximum 50 members per group.
- Each choir must participate in at least 2 festival sections and prepare 2 performances for 2 sections.
- Each performance should last approximately 8–14 minutes.
- Section One programme duration: approximately 15–20 minutes.
- Section Two programme duration: approximately 8–12 minutes.
- Section Three programme duration: approximately 8–12 minutes.
- Due to the exclusive location in Budva Old Town, a stage is not allowed.
