Overview

The festival

  • The International Sea Folk Festival in Batumi and Kobuleti is dedicated to the promotion and development of folklore arts and traditional culture.

  • The festival brings together participants from different countries, encouraging cultural exchange, mutual respect and cooperation while promoting Georgian and international folklore traditions.

  • It also provides an opportunity for performers and choreographers to share experience, establish new creative connections and develop their artistic skills.

Program

Festival program

The detailed festival program will be announced approximately one month before the beginning of each festival edition. The program will include group performances, cultural activities and a final concert featuring participating ensembles.

Stay & prices

Accommodation packages

  • Accommodation is in 2,3 and 4-bed rooms.

  • The transportation on the festival day is included in the price.

Booking & Payment Terms

  • Participation is based on a self-funding principle. A 50% advance payment of the total participation fee must be made when submitting the application, while the remaining 50% must be paid no later than one month before the festival begins.

The participation package does not include:

  • additional hotel nights

  • optional tours and excursions

  • international transportation

  • travel insurance

  • airport-to-hotel transfers

Transportation on official concert days is included in the package. The final festival agenda will be confirmed approximately one month before the festival.

Before you go

Rules, excursions & practical details

Participation

Folklore groups from different countries and regions are welcome to participate, with no age restrictions.

Participants prepare two performances of approximately 3–5 minutes each in the following categories:

  • folklore dance

  • folklore songs, both ensembles and individual performers

  • songs and romances

  • traditional handicraft arts and exhibitions

For the final concert, each participating group presents one performance.

Music may be performed live or with a recorded soundtrack. Groups are also required to submit their program and relevant audio/video and promotional materials with their application. Participants receive festival laureate diplomas and gifts.

Excursions

  • Optional excursions and tours in Georgia may be available during the festival.

  • Participating groups will receive further information regarding available excursions and additional costs prior to or during their stay.
