The festival

The XII International Choir Festival “SINGING IN DURRËS” takes place in Durrës, Albania, from 17–21 June 2027.

Celebrating choral music from different countries, the festival offers participants opportunities to share their repertoire and build international friendships. Durrës combines long sandy beaches and a Mediterranean atmosphere with more than 3,000 years of history.

Accommodation is provided at Hotel Bonita 5★, a beachfront hotel in Durrës with a private beach, swimming pool and spa facilities. Packages are available for 3, 4 or 5 nights with Half Board. An additional night costs €45 per person with Half Board.

Double rooms carry a supplement of €10 per person per day, while single rooms carry a supplement of €20 per person per day. Two double rooms for the group leader and drivers are available without the additional double-room charge. Tourist tax of €1 per person per day is paid additionally. One free place is provided for every 25 paying participants.

Booking & Payment Terms

  • A 10% guarantee fee is paid in advance and deducted from the final payment.
  • After application, the group receives confirmation.
  • Within approximately 2 days, the group receives an application number and required materials list.
  • Deposit instructions are sent following acceptance.
  • The required deposit must be paid within 10 days.
  • Participation becomes officially confirmed after deposit confirmation.
  • The final participant list, travel details and performance information are coordinated afterwards.

Participation

Who Can Apply

  • Children’s, youth and adult choirs, singing formations and orchestras are welcome.
  • Choirs of all repertoires may participate.
  • There is no age limit.
  • Groups may have a maximum of 80 participants.
  • The festival is non-competitive.

Application Materials

  • Application form.
  • Choir and conductor photo.
  • Recent audio recording.
  • Short CV and photos.

Group Responsibilities

  • Each group should bring its national flag.
  • Groups arrange their own transport to and from the festival.

Visa & Invitations

After WOFA review and acceptance, an invitation letter is sent.

Performance & Stage

  • Each choir must prepare at least two performance programs, each lasting approximately 8–14 minutes.
