The festival

The XI International Music and Dance Festival ST STEPHEN’S DAYS takes place from 20 to 23 August 2027 in Kecskemét, Hungary.

Held during St Stephen’s Day, Hungary’s national holiday, the festival celebrates the country’s history and traditions amid music, dance, fireworks and the traditional blessing of the new bread.

Participants can perform in the heart of the city, enjoy authentic Hungarian hospitality and discover Kecskemét’s art, music and cultural heritage.

Arrival

  1. Arrival and hotel check-in from 14:00.

    Meeting with group leaders and festival organizers to discuss the programme and event details.

Accommodation packages

Price includes

  • Accommodation in the selected hotel.
  • Daily half-board: breakfast and dinner.
  • Participation in festival concerts.
  • Diplomas and gifts from the city of Kecskemét.
  • Full organizational support.
  • For guests at Aranyhomok Business-City-Wellness Hotel: free use of the pool, jacuzzi, saunas, aromatherapy steam bath and fitness room.

Not included

  • Transportation.
  • Insurance.
  • Tourist tax: €2 per person per day, payable on site.
  • Transportation, tickets and associated expenses for sightseeing and excursions are the participants’ responsibility.
  • Aranyhomok Business-City-Wellness Hotel – 4★: Triple Superior rooms, with double and single occupancy options.
  • Hotel Három Gúnár – 3★: Double Standard or Triple Superior rooms, with single occupancy options and a double occupancy option for Triple Superior rooms.

Booking & Payment Terms

The participation package starts from €229 per person, depending on the selected accommodation. Additional nights are available on request, with prices depending on the accommodation type.

Accommodation Pricing Notes

  • Aranyhomok Business-City-Wellness Hotel: €229 per person in Triple Superior rooms. Double room supplement: €15 per person per day. Single room supplement: €38 per person per day.
  • Hotel Három Gúnár — Double Standard option: €279 per person. Single room supplement: €35 per person per day.
  • Hotel Három Gúnár — Triple Superior option: €279 per person. Double room supplement: €15 per person per day. Single room supplement: €50 per person per day.

Booking Conditions

Participation is confirmed after registration and agreement with the festival organizer. Places are limited, so early registration is recommended.

Rules, excursions & practical details

Participation

Applications are welcome from folk dance ensembles, folklore groups, orchestras, majorettes, modern dance groups and music bands from around the world. There are no age limits or restrictions on the number of participants.

Visa & Invitations

An official invitation is included in the participation fee.

Performance & Stage

  • Choirs and ensembles should be prepared for open-air performances.

Excursions

Groups can explore local attractions during their free time. Recommendations include sightseeing in Kecskemét, its city centre, architecture and cultural attractions, as well as the zoo and Aqua Park visits listed in the programme.

All sightseeing activities and excursions are recommendations only; the festival organizers do not organize or book them.
