The festival

The XI International Choir Festival “Vienna Cantat” takes place from 11 to 14 March 2027 in Vienna, Austria.

The city's imperial palaces, baroque architecture and world-famous musical heritage provide an inspiring setting for the festival.

Program

Day by day

Friday 19 March

Arrival

  1. Arrival in Vienna, hotel check-in and free time for sightseeing.

  2. Meeting with the festival director.

Accommodation packages

Price includes

  • 3 nights of accommodation with buffet breakfast in all standard packages.
  • One complimentary place for every 25 participants.
  • Certificates of attendance.
  • Souvenirs and gifts for each group.
  • Drinks during performances.
  • Festival promotion through press releases, social media, posters and flyers.
  • Video and photo links after the event.

Not included

  • Transportation to and from Vienna, which is each group's responsibility.
  • Tourist tax of EUR 3.50 per person per day.
  • Optional excursions; costs are provided upon request.
  • Optional airport transfers and local transportation, available at additional cost.
  • Medical services, which are not covered by the festival.

Accommodation is available in selected hostels, 3-star hotels and a 4-star hotel in Vienna.

Package Prices

  • A&T Luxury Hostel: EUR 149 per person.
  • 3-star hotel accommodation: EUR 185 per person.
  • Hotel Event Pyramide 4★: EUR 159 per person.

Extra nights are subject to availability and must be confirmed separately.

Participation

Who Can Participate

  • Open to choral, vocal and singing groups, including children, youth and adults.
  • A maximum of 3 groups per country may participate.
  • Managers, musicians and accompanying persons may participate.
  • Family members may participate at the same participation fee.

Application & Preparation

  • Groups must submit a short CV and 4 photos.
  • Each group should bring its national flag.

Health Insurance

All participants must have personal and health insurance.

Performance & Stage

  • Each group should prepare a 12–15 minute programme.
  • The organizers provide a stage for performances.

Excursions

Optional sightseeing may include:

  • A guided Vienna city tour.
  • Hofburg Palace.
  • Schloss Belvedere.
  • Schönbrunn Palace.
  • Ringstrasse.
  • Vienna coffee-house culture.
  • Shopping districts.
  • A visit to a medieval castle.
