The festival

X Istanbul International Dance & Music Festival and Competition 2027

The festival takes place from 22 to 26 November 2027 in Istanbul, Türkiye, bringing together dance and music groups for performances, competition and cultural exchange.

Divided by the Bosphorus Strait and bordered by the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, the city offers historic landmarks, museums, shopping areas and vibrant social life—an exciting setting to experience Istanbul’s history and atmosphere.

    Day 1: Arrival in Istanbul in the afternoon, free time, dinner, and meeting with group leaders.

Price includes

  • Guidance service.

Not included

  • Groups are responsible for transportation costs to festival venues and excursions.
  • Diesel fuel for group buses is not supplied.
  • For groups arriving by plane, a bus will be hired for ground transportation during the festival, including airport transfers, excursion transfers and transportation to performance venues, at the group’s expense.
  • Special tours and additional trips in Istanbul are not included unless stated separately.
  • An extra day costs €60 per person.
  • Competition evaluation fees for one competition number: soloist €60 per participant; duet €50 per participant; trio €40 per participant; groups €25 per participant.
  • Round-trip airport transfers by group size: 42 people €35 per person; 30 people €40 per person; 20 people €45 per person; 10 people €50 per person.

Booking & Payment Terms

  • Hotel reservations are made after a deposit of 20% of the total fee is paid as a group guarantee.
  • The hired ground transportation fee for groups arriving by plane should be paid on the first day of the festival.

Participation

Eligibility & Applications

  • Participants must be at least 10 years old.
  • Singing ensembles, majorette groups, choirs, folk dance groups and modern dance groups are welcome.
  • Group photographs must be submitted with the application.

Health Insurance

All groups must arrange medical insurance before arriving at the festival. The organization does not cover medical or hospital expenses during the festival, although an ambulance will be provided in emergency situations.

Performance & Stage

  • Performances may last 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
  • Music may be performed live or played from a CD or other recorded source.

Excursions

  • An Istanbul tour is available for €35 per person, including guide service and transfers.
  • A special Bosphorus boat trip is available for €35 per person.

The program mentions visits to the Byzantine historic area, including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and Grand Bazaar.
