Overview

The festival

The X International Festival ATAŞEHİR FEST 2026 takes place in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 06 to 10 December 2026.

Istanbul connects Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus Strait and is surrounded by the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. Its rich history, famous landmarks, shopping areas and vibrant atmosphere offer participants a memorable cultural and tourist experience.

The festival is organized by Boğaziçi Folklor Birliği Gençlik & Spor Kulübü – Bosphorus Folklore Union Youth & Sport Club & WOFA (WORLD FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION), with experience organizing festivals for children and young people. Participants are invited to experience the unique atmosphere of Istanbul and the Bosphorus.

Day 1 — Arrival

    Arrival in Istanbul in the afternoon. Free time, dinner and meeting with group leaders.

Accommodation packages

Price includes

  • Hotel accommodation for the entire festival duration.
  • Breakfast.
  • Participation in the festival programme.
  • Performances at official festival venues.
  • Guidance service during the programme.
  • Cultural and social activities during the festival.

Not included

  • Additional dinner: €20 per person per day.
  • Lunch pack: €15 per person per day.
  • Optional Bosphorus boat tour: €25 per person.
  • Special tours and additional excursions in Istanbul are not included in the basic package and may be charged separately.
  • Transportation costs are paid by the participating group. Groups are responsible for transportation connected with festival venues and excursions unless otherwise agreed.
  • For groups arriving by plane, transportation during the festival can be organized at an additional cost. This may include airport–hotel–airport transfers, transfers to festival performances and programme activities, and one visit to the historical European side of Istanbul.
  • Approximate round-trip airport transfer prices: 42 people – €30 per person; 30 people – €35 per person; 20 people – €40 per person; 10 people – €45 per person.
  • Groups arriving with their own buses are responsible for their own fuel and transportation expenses.
  • Competition evaluation fees, when applicable, are charged separately according to the selected category.

Accommodation is in a 3-star hotel, in rooms with 2–3 beds and a private toilet and shower in each room.

Booking & Payment Terms

The festival package costs €190 per person for 4 nights / 5 days.

  • For groups of more than 30 participants, 1 leader or driver is free of charge.
  • For groups of 45 participants or more, 2 leaders or drivers are free of charge.
  • Extra night: €45 per person.
  • Hotel reservations are confirmed after payment of a 20% group guarantee deposit from the total amount.

Participation

Who Can Participate

Folklore ensembles, singing groups, choirs, majorettes, modern dance groups and other performing groups are welcome. Participants must be 8 years old or older.

Photos of the participating group must be submitted with the application.

Health Insurance

All participating groups must arrange medical insurance before arriving at the festival. The organizing committee is not responsible for medical or hospital expenses incurred during the festival. In emergencies, assistance with ambulance services will be provided.

Performance & Stage

  • Groups may present performances of approximately 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
  • Performances may use live or recorded music.

Excursions

During the festival, groups will have opportunities to discover Istanbul. Planned or optional activities may include:

  • The Byzantine and historical area of Istanbul.
  • Blue Mosque.
  • Hagia Sophia.
  • Topkapı Palace.
  • Grand Bazaar.
  • Shopping centres.
  • Free time by the Marmara Sea.
  • Cultural dance and rhythm workshops.
