The festival

The IV International Folk Dance Festival & Competition “Erdek” takes place from 30 June to 3 July 2027.

International folk dance groups will perform, compete and share their cultural traditions during the stay.

The detailed day-by-day festival programme will be announced by the organizer closer to the event.

According to the current festival document, participants should arrive in Erdek on 30 June at approximately 14:00. Festival performances, competition activities and cultural exchange events will take place during the stay.

Booking & Payment Terms

  • An advance deposit of €2,000 is required to confirm participation.
  • The deposit is non-refundable if the group cancels.
  • The remaining balance must be paid 15 days before the festival or upon arrival at the hotel, according to prior agreement.
  • The application and deposit deadline is 15 March 2027.

Rules, excursions & practical details

Participation

International folk dance groups are welcome. There is no stated limit on the number of participants.

Application materials

  • Completed application form.
  • At least 6 digital photographs.
  • A short description of the group.
  • Videos or links to performances.
  • A description of the performances.

Flags and gift exchange

  • Each group should bring its country's national flag.
  • Each country should bring 3 gifts for the traditional gift exchange.

Health insurance

Participants are responsible for arranging valid international health insurance.

Performance & Stage

  • Each group must prepare at least 2 different performances.
  • Each programme should last approximately 8–10 minutes.
  • Live music is preferred, but recorded music is also accepted.
  • Detailed stage dimensions and technical specifications have not been provided.
