The festival

The 2nd International Ethnic Folklore Festival Colombo – Sri Lanka takes place from 23 to 30 November 2026 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The programme combines festival performances with sightseeing and cultural experiences.

Organized by V.K. in cooperation with WOFA – World Festival Association.

Price includes

  • Colombo International Airport pick-up and drop-off.
  • Colombo City Tour on Day 1 for both packages, as listed in the inclusions.

  • Comfortable hotel accommodation throughout the stay.

  • Option 1: €230 per person for 5 nights. Arrival: 23 November 2026; departure: 28 November 2026.
  • Option 2: €275 per person for 6 nights. Arrival: 23 November 2026; departure: 29 November 2026.

Additional Accommodation Charges

  • Extra day with Full Board: €35 per person in a 3-star hotel or €45 per person in a 4-star hotel.
  • The source also lists a double-room surcharge of €10 per person for a 3-star hotel or €15 per person for a 4-star hotel, despite the packages being described as double sharing.

Payment

A 10% guarantee fee is payable in advance and deducted from the final payment.

Participation

Who Can Participate

  • Open to dance and music groups of all styles: folklore ensembles, choirs, majorettes, orchestras, classical, contemporary and oriental groups, marching bands and brass bands.
  • Participants may be aged 7–70+.
  • Minimum group size: 4 participants. No maximum group size is stated.
  • An optional one-day competition category is available.

Travel Arrangements

Groups arrange their own round-trip flights.

Health Insurance

Groups are responsible for arranging their own travel health insurance.

Performance & Stage

  • Each group prepares 3 different dance or music items, each lasting 10–15 minutes.
  • Performances are presented once per day at the provided venues.
  • Live or recorded music is allowed.

Excursions

Optional excursions are available to Negombo, Dambulla, Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Bentota. Exact excursion prices are not specified.
