Fano

A historic seaside town on Italy's Adriatic coast, where Roman heritage meets wide sandy beaches.

Destination story

A place with its own rhythm.

Fano lies in the Marche region on the Adriatic Sea and was founded by the Romans as Fanum Fortunae. The Arch of Augustus still welcomes visitors to the historic centre with its squares, churches and Renaissance palaces. Long sandy beaches and a friendly, traditional Italian atmosphere make the town popular with families and groups. Fano is also known for its historic Carnival, one of the oldest in Italy.
