Participation Information



Who Can Participate: Folk ensembles, ballroom dance teams, art schools, music theaters, modern dance teams, orchestras, and majorette teams (children and youth groups are welcome).
Registration: Interested groups must send the following by March 1, 2024:

A group photo (minimum 3000 × 2000 pixels or 1MB).
A video or audio recording of the group’s program.
The registration form to the festival organizers.
After receiving the required materials, participants will be officially confirmed via email with an invitation.
Group Size: Each group must have a maximum of 30 participants (including leaders, drivers, and accompanying persons).
Tourists: Only participants directly involved in the festival program are accepted (no tourists).
Arrival and Departure: Groups must arrive one day before the festival and leave the day after unless special circumstances occur, such as flight timetables.

Accommodation Information



Accommodation: Accommodation and meals are provided near the festival venues (within a 3 km distance).
Festival Fee:
A fee of €30 per participant/per day covers accommodation, meals, local transportation, and other festival-related expenses.
The cost of transport to and from Lithuania, insurance, and any other travel-related expenses are covered by the participants.

Fee Exemptions: International participants who arrange their own accommodation, meals, and transport may be exempted from the festival fee.

Payment Deadlines:
30% of the festival fee must be paid by April 1, 2024.
The remaining 70% must be paid by April 15, 2024.

Payment Information: Transfer the fee to the festival organizers’ account with the group’s name and country as the payment reference.

Refund Policy: If a group does not attend, the festival fee will not be refunded but will contribute to covering the cost of their absence.

Program Information



Performance Requirements:
The program should include both authentic and modern folkloric vocal/instrumental and choreographic performances.
Groups must perform a concert program (10-20 minutes) on stage and an additional concert program (30-40 minutes) in the streets and squares.
Dance groups should prepare a program for both demonstration and evening training sessions (20-30 minutes).
Only live music performances are recommended.

Own Concerts: Groups may arrange their own concerts in advance with the festival organizers.

Festival Activities: The festival program will feature a mix of folk performances, creative laboratories, and exhibitions, offering opportunities for participants to share their culture and engage in cultural exchange.

Photography and Filming: Participants agree that their performances may be photographed or filmed, and these images/videos will become the property of Kaunas National Culture Center. These materials may be used for promotional purposes without the consent of participants.

Personal Data: By attending the festival, participants consent to the processing of personal data (name, phone number, email address), which may be publicly shared and used for promotional purposes. Participants have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data as per legal provisions.

Excursions and Cultural Program Information



Cultural Events: The festival will include cultural events for children, youth, and adults to promote historical memory, patriotism, and national self-awareness through folk songs, folk tales, and contemporary folk music.

Creative Laboratory: Participants can engage in activities such as traditional singing, playing stringed instruments, brass, bells, and other musical instruments.

Public Exposure: The festival also aims to promote Lithuanian ethnic culture globally through media coverage and encourage cultural exchange with other nations.

Local and International Promotion: The event will use mass media, including TV, radio, and the internet, to promote both Lithuanian culture and other international cultures.

Festival Locations: Performances will take place in various venues around Kaunas, including concert halls, town squares, and other open or closed spaces. Not all venues will have electrical power for amplifiers or microphones, so live performances are encouraged.
