Participation Information



Eligibility: All groups are welcome, including children’s, youth, and adult ensembles.

Non-competitive: This festival is a non-competitive showcase of traditional and modern dance and music.

Group Types: Eligible groups include folklore and modern dance groups, vocal groups, instrumental ensembles, soloists, and other performers.

Participant Limit: Participation is limited to 3 groups per country, with each group comprising up to 70 members (dancers, managers, musicians, and family members).

Performance Requirements:

Dance Ensembles: Two folk dances of 12–18 minutes each (performed with live orchestra or USB accompaniment).

Choral Groups: Two 12–18 minute performances, one a cappella in a historic church and one with sound equipment on the main stage.

Costume and Flag: Groups should bring their national flag and will be eligible for “Best Folk Costume” and “Best Dancing Couple” awards.

Transport: Each group is responsible for its own travel arrangements. For groups flying to Macedonia, complimentary transfers are provided from Ohrid Airport. Transfer options are also available from Skopje, Tirana, or Thessaloniki Airports (200 km from Ohrid) at an additional cost.

Application Requirements: A short CV and photos of the group must be submitted with the application.

Extended Stay: Festival participants can extend their stay at a special rate (€33 per day for FB and €29 for HB). Custom excursions will be arranged for extended stays.

10:00 – Ohrid sightseeing tour

11:00 – Lake Ohrid boat cruise to St. Naum Monastery
18:00 – Dinner in hotel

Day 4:

11:00 – Stara Čaršija tour and optional Struga visit
21:00 – Parade and Festival evening in Ohrid’s main square

Day 5:

09:00 – Breakfast and departure

Optional Extended Stay:

Day trips to Struga and Skopje available, featuring historical landmarks and unique cultural sites.

Experience the rich cultural and natural heritage of Ohrid through guided tours and excursions:

Sightseeing in Ohrid:

Visit historic sites including St. Sofia Church, Samoil’s Fortress, the Ancient Theatre, Plaosnik (St. Kliment’s Church), St. Kaneo Church, and the Bridge of Wishes (€2 per entry for some sites).


Boat Cruise to St. Naum:

Take a boat cruise on Lake Ohrid to visit the Museum on Water and St. Naum Monastery (€13 per person).


Ohrid Walking Tour:

Explore Stara Čaršija, the ancient Cinar tree, Biljanini Izvori, Ohrid pearl manufacturing shops, and nearby shopping areas. Option to visit Struga city.


Optional Day Trips:

Struga City Tour: House of the Miladinovci brothers, Crni Drim River, and Kalishta Cave Church.

Skopje City Tour: Explore monuments including the Macedonian Gate, Stone Bridge, and landmarks related to Alexander the Great.
