Participation Information


We invite Folk and Choral groups, orchestras, majorette teams, as well as children and youth groups to participate in the XI “International Children Folk Dance and Music Festival TROYA FEST,” to be held from April 20 – 24, 2025, in Çanakkale, Turkey.

This festival is a unique opportunity for groups from various countries to showcase their cultures through dances, music, and national costumes. Çanakkale, with its beautiful beaches, is one of Turkey’s most attractive tourism destinations and a city rich in history, notably the site of the Trojan War and the Gallipoli Campaign.

Participation is open to:

Folklore groups, orchestras, majorette teams, modern dance groups, choirs, and music bands from all over the world.
Non-competitive presentation of traditional and modern dances, choral groups, majorette teams, orchestras, and brass bands.
Each ensemble should prepare at least 2 dances (8-12 minutes each) with USB or orchestra accompaniment.

Application Requirements:

Submit an Application Form to confirm participation.
Provide a short CV and at least 6 photos of the group by email.
Groups must send the list of participants (name, surname, sex, date of birth, passport number) by March 1, 2024.
Folklore groups should bring their country’s flag and 4 gifts for the municipality visits and organizers.
Groups should arrange their own transport for arrival and departure. However, airport and festival transfers will be provided free of charge for groups arriving by plane.

Accommodation Information


Hotel Options:

Basic Hotel Category (3* Hotels)

115 Euro per person for 3 HB (3 nights with 2 meals per day)
145 Euro per person for 4 HB (4 nights with 2 meals per day)
Accommodation in triple or quadruple rooms for participants, with 2 double rooms for leaders and drivers.
Advanced Hotel Category

129 Euro per person for 3 HB (3 nights with 2 meals per day)
165 Euro per person for 4 HB (4 nights with 2 meals per day)
Accommodation in advanced hotels in Çanakkale, Turkey.
Additional Options:

Extra days can be booked for 35-35 Euro per person/day.
Group Leader Discount:

For groups of 25 persons, one group leader stays free of charge.
Accommodation Includes:

Participation in festival concerts.
Professional sound, stage, and lighting equipment.
Accommodation in 2* and 3* Hotels (3-4 bedded rooms).
Half board accommodation (breakfast and dinner).
Welcome cocktails with festival leaders.
Souvenir and gift for each group.
Certificate of participation.
Drinks during the performance.
Accommodation Does Not Include:

Transport (arrival and departure).

Program Information


Day 1

14:00: Arrival in Çanakkale, hotel accommodation, and free time.
18:00 – 20:00: Dinner at the hotel.
21:00: Welcome reception with festival leaders.
Day 2

07:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
10:00 – 14:00: Tour of Troy or free time.
16:00 – 18:00: Official festival opening with an “Ensemble Parade” and 3-minute performances from each group.
19:30 – 21:00: Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3

07:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
10:00 – 18:00: Gallipoli tour or free time.
17:30 – 18:30: Dinner at the hotel.
20:00: Official festival evening in the city square with speeches, open-air performances, and a group sing-along.
Day 4

07:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
10:30 – 12:00: Visit to the Municipality of Çanakkale and a reception with the Mayor.
17:00 – 19:00: Festival evening in the city square with open-air performances.
19:30 – 20:30: Dinner at the hotel.
21:00: Closing ceremony with certificates and presents for ensembles, exchange of gifts between leaders, and a final party with all participants.
Day 5

07:00 – 10:00: Breakfast.
12:00: Departure.

Excursions Information


Participants will have the opportunity to explore the rich history and natural beauty of Çanakkale. Some of the notable excursions include:

Tour of Troy (Day 2):

Discover the mysteries of the ancient city of Troy. Participants can enjoy a sightseeing tour or free time for individual activities.
Gallipoli Tour (Day 3):

Explore the Gallipoli Peninsula, known for one of the bloodiest battles of the 20th century. The tour will depart from Eceabat, Çanakkale, with the option for free time for those not joining the tour.
Additional attractions in the region include:

Alexandria Troas, Assos, the Temple of Apollo Smintheus, and much more.
Historic Gallipoli town, Bozcaada with its crystal-clear waters and wines, and Turkey’s largest island of Gökçeada.
These excursions provide participants with a memorable experience in one of the most historically and culturally rich regions of Turkey.

Historical Sites Excursions:
Groups may opt for guided tours to significant locations such as:
– The ancient city of Troy, the backdrop of the Trojan Wars.
– The Gallipoli Peninsula, known for its historical significance during World War I.
– Various ancient ruins and castles, including Assos, Alxandria Troas, and Babakale.

These excursions provide a unique opportunity to immerse in the culture and history of this captivating region while forming bonds with fellow participants.
