Participation Information
The X International Ohrid Youth Choir Festival is renowned across the region, inviting youth choral groups of all types (male, female, and mixed) from around the world. Organized by the Association of Culture and Art “Models” and the Youth Culture Center in partnership with the National Institutions, the Ohrid Municipality, and the World Festival Association, this festival provides an exceptional opportunity for young singers to perform in an inspiring setting.
Every participating choir must submit an application form, which includes a recent photograph of the choir and conductor, along with an audio recording (which can be shared via website link or postal mail). The festival includes three sections:
Section One: Open-air performances (15-20 minutes of any chosen program in public outdoor locations).
Section Two: Pop Music (8-12 minutes of choral arrangements of pop songs).
Section Three: Folk Music (8-12 minutes of choral arrangements of folk songs or folk-inspired music).
Choirs are required to perform in at least two sections and agree to comply with all legal rights related to their music selections, as well as the festival’s right to use any recordings made during the event. Performances are held at historical sites in Ohrid and Struga. Each group should consist of no more than 50 members, including singers, managers, and musicians, with no age limit. Participants are required to bring their country’s flag, arrange for their own transportation, and have health insurance. The festival offers one free participant for every 24 registered (24+1), along with souvenirs, a certificate of attendance, and a statue for each choir.
