Participation Information



We invite folk ensembles, choral groups, orchestras, brass bands, modern dance groups, and majorette teams (children and youth) to participate in the VII International Çanakkale Folk Dance and Music Festival.
The festival aims to present the cultural traditions of different countries and provides an opportunity for group members to connect, establish friendships, and showcase their culture through dance and music.

The festival is open to all genders and ages.

General Rules for Participation:

  • The festival welcomes participation from folklore groups, orchestras, majorettes, modern dance groups, choirs, and music bands from around the globe.
  • Ensembles must prepare a minimum of two dances, each lasting 8-15 minutes, to be performed with a USB or live orchestra.
  • Folklore groups are expected to bring their country’s flag and gifts for municipal visits.
  • To express interest in participating, groups must complete and submit an Application Form. Submission implies agreement with the outlined terms.
  • Groups should provide a brief CV and a minimum of three photos via email.
  • By September 1, 2024, each group must submit a list of participants, including names, surnames, genders, dates of birth, and passport numbers.
  • Groups are responsible for their own transportation for both arrival and departure.

Participation Fee:

  • 90 Euro for 3 Half Board (HB) per person (3 nights with 2 meals per day)
  • 110 Euro for 4 HB per person (4 nights with 2 meals per day)
  • An additional day can be reserved at a rate of 30 Euros per person per day.
  • For groups of 25 persons, one group leader participates for free (24 paying + 1 free).

The participation fee includes:

  • Access to festival concerts
  • Professional sound, stage, and lighting equipment
  • Accommodation in 2* or 3* Hotels (3-4 bedded rooms; additional costs: 7€ per person per day for a double room, 15€ per person per day for a single room)
  • Half-board hotel accommodation
  • A souvenir and gift for each group
  • A certificate of attendance

The participation fee excludes:

  • Transportation for arrival and departure
  • Optional tour programs
  • Insurance
  • Any items not explicitly stated in the “fee includes” section

Groups wishing to participate must submit an Application Form.

Approved groups are required to pay a 10% guarantee fee in advance, which will be deducted from the final payment.

The next payment of 20% for booking accommodation must be sent to the organizer.

The remaining balance will be settled before the festival begins or upon arrival, depending on prior agreement with the organizers.

Accommodation Information



Participants will be accommodated at Kumru Hotels in Çanakkale, Turkey, with the following arrangements:

Leaders and drivers are provided with 2 double rooms.

Other participants will stay in triple and quadruple rooms.

The hotel offers two meals per day as part of the Half Board (HB) service.

Program Information



Day 1:
14:00: Arrival in Çanakkale and hotel accommodation after meeting with festival representatives; free time

18:30 – 19:30: Dinner at the hotel

20:30: Meeting with the director and choreographer

Day 2:
07:00 – 10:00: Breakfast

10:00 – 14:00: Visiting Çanakkale city, Cordon of the city, and ancient Bazaar (optional) or free time

16:00: Open-air performance

19:00 – 20:00: Dinner at the hotel

Day 3:
07:00 – 10:00: Breakfast

09:00 – 15:00: Free time

16:00 – 19:00: Festival party

19:00 – 20:00: Dinner at the hotel

Day 4:
07:00 – 09:00: Breakfast

10:00 – 12:00: Open-air performance

16:00 – 18:00: Gala performance

19:30 – 20:30: Dinner at the hotel

Day 5:
07:00 – 10:00: Breakfast

12:00: Departure

Excursion Information



Çanakkale is not only a festival destination but also a significant tourist location adorned with extensive, azure-flagged beaches.

It is historically rich, with landmarks from the ancient city of Troy to the Gallipoli Peninsula.

Groups will have the opportunity to explore the city and its historical marvels during their leisure time.

Noteworthy sites include:

  • Ancient city of Troy
  • Alexandria Troas
  • Assos, where Aristotle spent part of his life
  • Apollo Smintheus Sanctuary
  • The Gallipoli Peninsula, site of pivotal 20th-century battles
  • Bozcaada, known for its crystal-clear waters and wines
