Participation Information:



We are pleased to invite you to participate in the XVI Passo Fundo’s International Folklore Festival, which will be held in Passo Fundo, Brazil, from August 9 to 17, 2024. This festival aims to present the cultural traditions of various countries and provide an opportunity for participants to foster friendships and cultural exchange through dance and music.

Eligibility: We welcome folk groups, dance groups, vocal and choir groups, majorette teams, and orchestras, for children, youth, and adult groups.
Group Size: Each group may consist of a maximum of 25 participants. If a group requires a larger number, special permission must be requested, but the total number must not exceed 30 participants (including dancers, musicians, and directors).
Performance Requirements: Groups are required to perform with live music and have a repertoire suitable for shows lasting 5, 12, and 30 minutes, showcasing traditional dances from their country or province.
Registration Fee: A registration fee of 25 Euros per person is required after confirmation of participation.

Accommodation Information:



Accommodation: The festival will provide simple accommodation in hotels or retreat houses within the city of Passo Fundo.
Meals: Complete and balanced meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will be offered to all groups during their stay.

Program Information:



Festival Schedule: Each group will be required to participate in festival activities during two shifts per day (e.g., morning and night, afternoon and night, or morning and afternoon). A free shift will be available for rest, walks, and rehearsals.
Parades: The festival will include two large street parades, where all groups must participate, as well as smaller parades involving 3 or 4 groups, each with a route of approximately 500 meters.
Presentations: Performances will take place on the main stage, in schools, and at other venues such as social institutions, squares, and clubs. Presentations will also be held in neighboring cities, where groups may perform up to 45 minutes.
Workshops: Workshops will be organized among participating groups to share dances and music, encouraging cultural exchange.

Additional Requirements:
Please send 6 color photos of your group, along with a brief history of the group and a list of members (including name, function, age, gender, and passport details).

Insurance:


Health Insurance: It is mandatory for each group to have personal responsibility and health insurance. While medical services, including first aid, will be available during the festival, the cost of medical treatment must be covered by the group.

Excursions and Transport Information:



Arrival: Groups are expected to arrive in Passo Fundo on August 7th or 8th, 2024. The preferred arrival location is Lauro Kurtz Airport, although arrivals at Salgado Filho International Airport in Porto Alegre can also be accommodated.
Departure: Groups should plan to depart from Passo Fundo on August 17, 2024.
Internal Transport: The festival will provide internal transport during the event, including transportation from the airport to the festival and between event venues. However, this transport does not include tours or trips outside the festival schedule.
External Transport: Groups are responsible for their transport to and from Passo Fundo.
