Participation Information

Performance Requirements:
All groups must present a continuous 90-minute program without intermissions, featuring live music and dances representative of their country, state, or national repertoire.

Arrival and Departure:
National groups must arrive in Ciudad Acuña on the morning of their scheduled performance day.
International groups must arrive at Mariano Escobedo Airport in Monterrey by September 6, no later than 10:00 PM, to allow for transportation to Ciudad Acuña. The festival inauguration is on September 7, and groups are expected to depart no earlier than September 17.

Group Size:
National groups: Between 20 and 40 participants (including dancers, musicians, and directors).
International groups: No more than 15 members (including dancers, musicians, and managers).

Participant Responsibilities:
All members of the group must have a defined role (musician, dancer, choir, director, or choreographer).
If an official from your state/city is attending, notify the organizers in advance.
Companions without specific roles are the financial responsibility of the group.

Transportation:
International groups must cover transportation from Monterrey to Ciudad Acuña, with costs ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 pesos per person for round-trip travel.

Documentation:
All groups are required to submit:

At least five high-definition photographs (JPG or PNG) of the group in performance or posed.
A 5-minute video of the group, ensuring professional production quality.
All materials must be received no later than April 30, 2024.
Media Usage:
Groups authorize the organizers to use and publish all photographs and video materials collected before and during the festival for promotional purposes.
No compensation will be provided for recordings or filming by radio, TV, or other media.

Insurance and Health:
Medical expenses during the festival are the responsibility of each group.
National groups are advised to travel with valid social security coverage for all members.
International groups must purchase international travel insurance, covering overseas medical treatment, prior to the trip.

Health Protocols:
All groups must comply with the health protocols set by Mexican authorities and, for national groups, their respective state authorities.

Registration Fee:
The registration fee is 20 euros per person.

Accommodation Information

Lodging and Meals:
Accommodation and meals for all participants are covered by the festival organization.
Internal transportation within Ciudad Acuña is also provided, unless the group has its own transportation.
Any damage to accommodation facilities will be the responsibility of the group’s director.

Arrival/Departure Before or After Festival Dates:
If the group arrives earlier than September 7 or departs after September 16, all expenses incurred during this time are the group’s responsibility.

Program Information

Festival Participation:
Attendance at all official festival activities is mandatory for all groups.
Each group must bring a flag of their country or coat of arms of their state, along with the group’s banner for parades and official events.
Each group is also encouraged to bring representative gifts from their country or state to exchange with local authorities and other participating groups:

International groups: Bring at least 12 gifts.
National groups: Bring 2 to 3 gifts.
Presentation Requirements:
All group members must wear traditional attire during performances.
Musical instruments and other performance elements must also be traditional to their country or state of origin.

Discipline and Conduct:
Group directors are responsible for the behavior and discipline of their members.
Failure to comply with festival rules may result in the termination of the group’s participation without liability for the organizers.

Excursions and Cultural Exchange

Souvenirs and Crafts:
Groups are encouraged (but not obligated) to bring souvenirs or crafts representative of their country or state to sell during the festival. The proceeds from these sales will benefit the group directly.
